The f’ed up web

When I got my desktop back in 2007 ‚I decided to get a broadband connection for I end up downloading hell lot of shit. Placed in a valley, I had limited options and the most economical one was BSNL dataone. The first two months were one of the best times I spend online. Awesome speed of 2MBps , it was lightning speed indeed. One sad afternoon , things started going haystack. The internet was down, however it was normal the next day. This cycle of disconnects were not so common those days. Then back in feb 2008 , the frequency increased . I started getting worried and called customer care. They came and fixed it. However the next month , it starts disconnecting once again. The story repeated. From jan 2009 things started getting worse , I moved upstairs and the line used to frequently drop.So they changed the line .Then the whole net stopped working. Finally the A.E came and said its because I have a wrong power supply to the modem. Then it started working properly except for the three hours in the evening. I was afraid that if i complain they might screw it badly. So I kept dumb, however since last two weeks the line started dropping more , infact the python code i wrote to count the time i was uptime showed my internet is down for 21 hours and 09 minutes in the 24 hours cycle. This is kind of frustrating, may be too frustrating . The interesting part is BSNL doesnt have a one stop helpline. You call some guy , he gives you some other number and it goes on and on.…So i decided it’s time i call it a day,and shift to Reliance.

For the  humorous version of my frustrations do check kthanxbhai’s awesome post

The woes continue

Often it happens that at the start of a semester we make rules and we talk a lot of shit about them.It might soothe our heart after the ‘tiresome and unplanned’ ending of the previous semester . Back in December, I felt fresh listening to my head talk about his plans to change the way our lab system works. As he says  “system is never wrong,it runs as we make it run ” , i had hope in his words and still do. But a semester later I didn’t notice any difference. The problem with us is that we are too dependent to account for our deeds, thus making us irresponsible for things that should have happened happened.  Read the rest of this entry »

Optimistic Scandals

The following blog post is a endeavor to practice for my GRE analytical issue writing. The topic is basically how Scandals can focus our attention to problems which otherwise remain unknown.

Mind is a prejudiced object of wonder god gave us. Most of us are never optimistic in the way we see problems, thus making us baised to what we hear and see. The belief in proof makes us mere zombies in the intellectual abyss. Over the years most of the common problems which remained unsolved got attention with a Scandal in light.
Curiosity in negative propaganta makes us get our attention on the wrongdoing. Unfortuantely most of us are such fanatic who happened to only focus on the problem when it hits the stands in bad light . In the last three weeks , religious scandals had thier share .
While the media continue to exaggerate the doings to increase thier TRP ratings, the  viewers are inquistive enough to make it a hot topic. The Q and A , debates on the channels show how responsive we suddenly become when a scandal is reported. Though its all a bussiness from the media perspective, still it does make the otherwise lazy officials to focus and solve the turmoil caused by it .
However Political scandals have a diffrent way. When a high range scandal is reported, bribery makes its way into the system, thus making them nonproliferate. Sex and religious based scandal make their way fast and often lead to hot debates thus getting a strong focus which might lead to otherwise ‘never solved’ solution.

The desi plagiarism

It was quite a happening month. Post exams , I decided to work on other things instead of fighting the system after all  we run the system . And finally i am having GRE blues. Frankly I guess I need to do it well. Now I can’t complain the system ‚it’s my preps which matter here . I happened to take stage after a long time , and the response was quite good. Guess I need to polish few things and I am as good as I was . I wanted to practice for my analytical writing, so here is a small share of a things which were haunting since few years.

The system of Solace

Yesterday while my MT class was going on , My HOD happened to give a small insight on how he would set his own university. Here is an exaggerated briefing of his idea. ” Education is a business ” , Considering the fact that it’s quite ironical to the present day situation of making money using education . He would continue saying education is a business where we provide a x + ?x for every x the student spends .

Save our Tiger.

My madam asked “What is our National Animal ? ” . I remember shouting back along with all my classmates when I was in my grade 1. Interestingly I didn’t see one at that time . My first encounter with this magestic animal was when I was in grade 3 . At Local Zoo , we had three of them . And I was lucky to get a glimpse of one , thanks to the rush by my friends.

1st model Design

I have been postponing the design or in fact a sketch of the new API I want to develop for a Enterprise Meta Dictionary . Basically it’s a abstract design linking different servers to a Central RMI Registry . And using Language Independent Interfaces I want to make it language independent , making it flexible for different language programmers to stop working about method invocation from the client side. The Comparison Statement

Today Dad took a brief glance on my marks memorandum of all the three semester exams I gave. Thanks to my pathetic performance , the logical question on comparison has come . At the end of the discussion he asked me a simple question “Don’t you compare with the rest of the your class mates ? ” . This is really an interesting question especially having known my dad’s analytical skills. Read the rest of this entry »

edition jan

Interestingly after a poor performance at the semester exams, I kind of got more into studies and when I stay studies I meant more of theoretical learning. Somehow these days I can read my text books without much distraction . Interestingly I am more confident these days as I am getting more into local languages instead of working more on new ones.
