Pictorialism and Modernism

When Joseph Niepce achieved the first photographic image with camera obscura in 1814 , he never dreamt about the effect it would have on the future. Though the concept of a pinhole camera belongs to Mo-Ti (470 BC), and the greats like Aristotle understood the optical principle for a pinhole camera, it wasn’t till Niepce exposed an image on hours to record it, did people realise the importance of it.

The poison of photography

It’s been 202 days since I logged into my blog. Lot of things have changed since then (Worldcup,Graduation,Indian Scams being popular)  . One important thing being a shift in interest .A hobby soon to be a profession , a thought to be an art ,and a 1000d to 1d.Yeah, finally I’m gonna study photography as an art instead of an experiment . Last two years were quite unexpected to me as well as my folks at home . Excitingly accepting the challenges ahead , here are couple of thoughts/answers , I decided to blog down lot of thoughts non linearly .

{ FOSS, Bangalore }

Last year FOSS was one of the most important things that happened in my life. I was never exposed to people with whom I share similar interests. And keeping the technical things behind, I happened to meet this interesting photographer Kalyan Varma . Though I couldn’t talk to him so much last time , we kept in touch on twitter.

FOSS 2010 wasn’t as great as 09 maybe because atul wasn’t on the team. I was actually looking forward to meet Kalyan this time again. Was disappointed that he was in Srilanka when FOSS was starting. But he actually turned up for FOSS. :)
